Most of us now that Facebook shows fewer and fewer of the pages we like in our news feeds. There are two reasons for this: First, Facebook wants page owners take out Facebook ads to pay to get the people who already like their pages to see the pages they like. Second, with so many people and pages using Facebook, most people’s news feeds would be overwhelmed with the amount of posts showing up.
It’s been said, and in the past it was the case, that Facebook users could just click the Pages Feed link feed located in the left column in their Favorites, and all the pages they like would be there, showing up as the page made new posts. For whatever reason, even that is no longer working as it did. Now posts might be new, or they might be hours (or even days) old. And what does show up is not even in order of the time it was posted. Having your news feed selected to post the newest posts rather than top stories has no effect on the Pages Feed link feed.
There is one sure way to see the Facebook pages posts that you want to see and it does not call for Facebook advertising. Just add the Facebook page to your Facebook interests lists. This seems to be the only way to see new fresh posts from pages, other than actually going to the Facebook page itself. Using interest lists, you can add them to your favorites in the left column and just click them when you want to see what’s been posted for that particular interest. Or add all your pages into one big list and see all the newest posts anytime you want, just by clicking that one link to show the feed.
Even though Facebook is rolling out a new design for Facebook pages, how to your Facebook interest lists is the same whether you are on the new design or the old one. The new Facebook design for pages looks more like your personal page with one main column for posts, where the old design has two columns for posts. All the pages will eventually change over. Regardless of which design the page has, adding pages that you like to your Facebook interest lists is easy to do.
To make an interest list, simply go to the Facebook page that you like or one that you want to like (such as https://www.facebook.com/cynthiathomas.net). If you have already liked the page, hover over the Like button and click Add to Interest Lists. From there, if you already have made interest lists, you can add to it to one of them. If you have no interest lists, click New List. The page that comes up will show the page that you want to add and it should already be checked. Click next, then name your list and select if you want it to be public, friends, or only you who will be able to see it and follow it. Then click done.
Now, in the left column on Facebook, scroll down until you see the INTERESTS list, click the link, and find the list you just made. Using the little gear icon just to the right of the name, click the gear and select Add To Favorites. This will put your list at the top of the left column where you can see it easily and click it any time you want to see the new fresh posts from that list. You can rearrange that list if you wish or leave it as it is.
Using this method allows you to see posts from Facebook pages you like. It also allows you the choice of organizing your page likes by category, if you want to, or having them all in one list. But the main thing is that it allows you to see the pages that you like and that’s the reason we like Facebook pages to begin with, because we want to see what’s posted.
